We are hosting a public interest symposium at Hastings law school in conjunction with Hastings South Asian Law Student Association (SALSA). Five panelists will discuss their decisions to enter public interest, career path and the obstacles and joys of their practice. We welcome law students and attorneys to attend.
Our panelists will include:
Rani Singh, an Assistant District Attorney with San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, and head of the Domestic Violence Unit;
Sliman Nawabi, a Deputy Public Defender with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, who represents indigent clients facing felony charges;
Neha Gupta, a Deputy City Attorney with the City of San Francisco, who counsels government agencies and litigation team;
Ramaah Sadasivam, of counsel at Jacobson Education Law, a boutique law firm that advocates for children with disabilities;
Professor Veena Dubal from Hastings Law School, who has worked on the nature of the share economy and its effect on workers
The panel will be moderated by Asit Panwala, SABA-NC’s president.
