Gurneet Singh
Gurneet Singh, an Intellectual Property lawyer at Jones Day, represents leading companies in district courts, at the International Trade Commission, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He has helped litigate and resolve high-stakes competitor disputes, including a multi-jurisdictional case involving over 50 patents, a widely-publicized bet-the-industry case, and a matter that was covered by Forbes. Since 2012, Gurneet has developed patent and trade secret portfolios, protecting hardware accelerators, artificial intelligence and machine learning models, enterprise resource planning systems, blockchain systems, social media, sports shoes, credit-score systems, and autonomous-vehicle systems for some of the most innovative market leaders.
Gurneet’s comprehensive approach to IP matters is well-regarded, with contributions to publications including Competition Policy International TechREG Chronicle, Chicago-Kent Journal of IP, IAM Media, Law360, and IP Litigator. Mondaq recognizes him as a “very popular” author in the U.S. for 12 different topics.

Thaila Sundaresan
Thaila Sundaresan is a Communications and Appellate Litigation partner at Davis Wright Tremaine. She is a seasoned litigator and regulatory attorney who helps clients resolve complex disputes and navigate high-stakes regulatory challenges. She represents businesses across industries in trial courts, arbitrations, and appeals, and advises on regulatory, policy, and compliance matters before state and federal agencies. Before joining the firm, Thaila spent six years at the Federal Communications Commission, where she led major appellate cases involving spectrum policy, broadband deployment, and emergency communications systems. Thaila also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients before the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal courts in cases involving significant constitutional issues. Her commitment to public service underscores her dedication to advancing justice and shaping important legal issues. In addition to serving as President-Elect of SABA NC, Thaila is the Board President of LEAP (Legal Education Access Pipeline), Co-Chair of the Northern California Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association, and is on the Board of Visitors at the University of Maryland School of Law. She received her B.A. from Stanford University, with honors, and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, magna cum laude.

Prince Singh
Prince Singh is in-house counsel at PlayStation / Sony Interactive Entertainment and an adjunct law professor at UC Davis Law. At PlayStation, Prince’s practice primarily focuses on Global Marketing, Advertising & Children’s Online Safety matters where he works on global celebrity, athlete and influencer collaborations, along with supporting the PlayStation brand, consoles and video game launches. Most recently he had the opportunity on launching the co-promotion between PS5 x Drake’s Octobers Very Own (OVO), an activation at the 2026 NBA All Star Weekend, executing the Gran Turismo World Series and spearheading the marketing for the 2025 Game of the Year - Ghost of Yotei.
Prior to joining PlayStation, Prince was the first IP/Marketing counsel at Rocket Money where he supported marketing teams on advertising compliance and IP enforcement, including working on the 2024 NFL Draft and a commercial at the 2025 Super Bowl. Prior to going in-house Prince was a Patent Litigation Associate at Reed Smith San Francisco. Outside of work Prince sits on the board of the UC Davis Law Alumni Association, is the previous SABA-NC in-house counsel chair, events chair, and communications chair, is a professional bhangra dancer and a dog dad.

Prince earned his B.A. with honors from UC Santa Barbara, his M.P.H from Harvard University, and his J.D. from UC Davis Law where he was the Class of 2020 Commencement Speaker.

Sonali Shah
Sonali Shah is IP Counsel at ŌURA, where she helps manage all things IP (including patent prosecution, IP enforcement, brand enforcement, and more). Leveraging a background in biochemical engineering and previous experience in artificial intelligence, software, and hardware, Sonali approaches this work with a unique perspective.
While attending Santa Clara University School of Law, Sonali earned the High Tech Law Certificate with a focus on Intellectual Property. She received her bachelor of science degree in biochemical engineering from the University of Georgia.

Jas Sangra
Jas Sangra is a cross-border attorney licensed in California and British Columbia. He advises individuals, entrepreneurs, and multinational organizations on complex legal and regulatory matters involving the movement of people, capital, and business activities across international jurisdictions.
Jas’ practice focuses on navigating overlapping legal frameworks across borders, including tax, compliance, and transactional considerations. He has experience structuring international investments and business operations, addressing regulatory risk, and aligning legal strategy with his clients’ broader commercial and business objectives. His work includes advising on cross-border expansion, global mobility, and the coordination of legal and financial planning across multiple jurisdictions.
Jas is particularly interested in issues at the intersection of law, regulation, and emerging industries, and in helping clients operate effectively within increasingly complex and interconnected global and regulatory environments.

Malavika Lobo is part of the in-house department of Gen Digital Inc., where she supports litigation, employment, regulatory, and product. Prior to joining Gen Digital, Malavika was an associate in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s litigation group. Malavika earned her J.D. from Boston University and a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.

Priyah Kaul is an attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she practices in the firm's litigation department. Prior to re-joining Gibson Dunn, Priyah was a civil rights attorney and worked in politics. Priyah earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. in Business Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Aminder Singh
Aminder Singh has over 20 years of experience in indigent defense. He is an Assistant Public Defender with the Alameda County Public Defender's Office, where he currently serves as the Branch Head of the East County Hall of Justice. In this role, he supervises and manages felony attorneys while maintaining an active leadership presence in the office. Aminder previously coached the trial team at Santa Clara University, School of Law in his capacity as an Instructor in Law, teaching Advanced Trial Techniques and training aspiring trial attorneys. In addition to his practice, Aminder has served as a Commissioner on the Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE) Commission and was the Chair of the Commission during the 2020–2021 term. He has served on the SABA-NC endorsement committee since 2021.

Ruby Kazi
Ruby Kazi is Of Counsel for Benesch’s Litigation Practice Group. She is an experienced trial and appellate attorney who focuses her practice on collaborating with her clients who are industry leaders facing threats to their businesses. She has experience first chairing trials in both state and federal court, preparing for and presenting oral arguments.
Ruby earned her J.D. from Drake Law School and her B.S. from Northwestern University. Jasleen is a trial lawyer at Altair Law in San Francisco. She relentlessly represents catastrophically injured individuals and their families in cases including claims of complex negligence, product liability, elder abuse and neglect, consumer fraud, and wrongful death. She is an avid supporter of jury trials and trial technique. She is recognized as a Best Lawyer– Ones to Watch 2026 and a Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2024 to 2026. She graduated from law school with an Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and an Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award.
Jasleen naturally took to litigation to provide a voice to injured people when they need it most. Her dedication to advocacy began as a young child, as she explored her identities as a first-generation South Asian American, Punjabi, and Sikh disciple. She continued on to serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for young children; volunteered with the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund; and represented battered and abused women in domestic violence, custody, and relocation hearings and trials through the Legal Aid of Philadelphia.
In her free time, Jasleen loves to run, dance, and decompress with family. She is honored to be a part of SABA-NC and looks forward to serving the community.

Neha Nayak
Neha Nayak is an associate at Maynard Nexsen in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she practices labor and employment law representing employers in a wide range of matters, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour/PAGA, and workplace investigations. She earned her J.D. from University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Prior to her legal career, Neha worked in tech sales, where she consistently exceeded performance targets and developed a strong foundation in client advising, negotiation, and strategic problem-solving. She brings this business-oriented perspective into her legal practice, partnering closely with clients to deliver practical, solutions-driven counsel.
As Events Chair for the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California (SABA-NC), Neha is focused on creating thoughtful programming that fosters connection, mentorship, and professional growth within the South Asian legal community.

Jaya Bajaj Narang
Jaya Bajaj Narang is an attorney at Farella Braun + Martel, where she represents employers across a wide array of industries in single-plaintiff, class, and representative actions under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). She has litigated disputes regarding wage and hour law, retaliatory discharge, discrimination, and breach of contract in federal and state courts, and before arbitrators. She has also represented clients before administrative agencies, including the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Jaya earned her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. She has been named among the 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Labor and Employment Law and was named to the Lawyers of Color Hot List in 2022.

Rashi Punia
Rashi Punia is an IP, Technology & Science Litigation associate in the Silicon Valley office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she represents life sciences and technology clients in patent disputes before federal district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. She also advises clients on IP diligence and risk assessment in connection with M&A transactions and licensing matters. Before Weil, Rashi practiced at Anand and Anand, a leading intellectual property law firm in India, where she represented clients in complex IP disputes across industries including pharmaceuticals, luxury fashion, telecommunications, CPG, entertainment, online platforms, and consumer technology. She has also clerked for Justice Vipin Sanghi of the High Court of Delhi
Rashi earned her LL.M. in Law, Science and Technology from Stanford Law School and her LL.B. from the Army Institute of Law in India. She is admitted to practice in California and India. Her pro bono work includes matters involving domestic violence, asylum, and post-conviction relief.

Divya Mittal
Divya Mittal is a legal executive with over 15 years of legal experience including building, scaling, and advising VC-backed technology companies from early growth through exit. She currently serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Zendrive, Inc., a VC-backed SaaS and data company, where she has spent nearly seven years building and leading the legal function from the ground up. During her tenure, Divya guided Zendrive through every stage of its lifecycle, from scaling operations and closing multimillion-dollar enterprise deals to leading the legal strategy and negotiation for a successful asset sale to Credit Karma (Intuit). Her experience spans the full spectrum of in-house work at venture-backed startups, including commercial contracting, M&A, data privacy, AI governance, IP strategy, and corporate governance.
Prior to Zendrive, Divya served as Senior Counsel at Uber Technologies, where she led legal strategy for North America financial partnerships and Uber's multi-billion-dollar global insurance program. She previously held roles at Ambridge Partners, Starr Companies, CNA Financial, and Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP.
Divya earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from New York University, where she double-majored in Politics and Economics. She is passionate about supporting the South Asian legal community and looks forward to leveraging her in-house experience to bring practical, career-focused programming to SABA-NC members.

Gurleen Rana
Gurleen Kaur Rana is an attorney at O’Hagan Meyer and currently supports the Labor & Employment and Intellectual Property practice groups. Her practice includes FEHA related matters such as discrimination, workplace harassment, workplace retaliation, and wrongful termination. She also has extensive experience in counseling tech companies on brand protections and anti-counterfeiting enforcement. Gurleen earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University, School of Law in 2018 and her B.A. in Political Science and Law, Societies, and Justice, from the University of Washington, Seattle. While in law school, she received a certificate in High Tech Law with a Specialization in Intellectual Property, participated in the Broadband Regulatory Clinic, and served as the Secretary for South Asian Law Student Association.

Saurabh Prabhakar
Saurabh Prabhakar is a trial lawyer and litigation counsel at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP. He represents leading companies in complex intellectual property and commercial disputes across multiple forums, including federal courts, state courts in California, New York, and Washington, DC, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and arbitration tribunals. His prior experience as a software engineer in the semiconductor industry provides a strong technical foundation for his practice.
Saurabh is deeply committed to public service and access to justice. He maintains an active pro bono practice, representing low-income clients in matters involving domestic violence restraining orders, elder abuse, asylum, actual innocence claims, and eviction defense. He also serves as a Pro Bono Ambassador for the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County.
Saurabh earned his Juris Doctor, with High Honors, from The George Washington University Law School, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering, First Class with Distinction, in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, India.
Having grown up in half-a-dozen cities across northern India, Saurabh now considers the San Francisco Bay Area his home. He lives in the East Bay with his wife and their three talented daughters.

Ashima Duggal is the founder of Duggal Law Group PC, a boutique employment and family immigration practice that represents start-ups, small corporations, and individuals in diverse fields. Ashima has practiced immigration since 2005 through her solo practice and with two global corporate immigration firms. She has also previously worked with the U.S. Department of Labor on the PERM program.
Ashima has served as the Chair for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Santa Clara Valley Chapter and Co-chair of the Texas State AILA Chapter Conference. Ashima has presented at many seminars on business immigration topics. As a passion, Ashima has helped produce documentary films that give voice to previously unheard narratives and change-makers who disrupt our understanding of the status quo. She has practiced Vipassana meditation since 2007.

Sonali Mathur is a dual-qualified attorney (California and India) with over 17 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, international arbitration, and regulatory disputes. Prior to relocating to the United States in 2023, she was a Partner at AZB & Partners, one of India’s leading law firms, where she built a distinguished practice advising clients on high-stakes, cross-border disputes. She has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions, and regulatory stakeholders across sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology, and finance.
Following her relocation, Sonali practiced as an associate in the North America Litigation and Government Enforcement Group at Baker McKenzie, Palo Alto (2024–2026), where she worked on complex U.S. litigation matters, including federal securities class actions, disputes involving digital assets, and cross-border enforcement of arbitral awards.
Sonali has been ranked by Chambers Global and Chambers Asia-Pacific as an “Up and Coming” lawyer and is recommended by Legal 500 for both litigation and arbitration. Yaamini Rao
Yaamini L. Rao, Ed.M, Esq. is a Deputy Public Defender for the County of Santa Clara. Yaamini is currently a Senior Attorney in the Felony Trial unit. Yaamini is passionate about reforming the juvenile and criminal legal systems as well as improving the practice of criminal law for women of color. Yaamini is on the California Youth Defenders Legislative Committee, the California Public Defenders Association YA Committee, the SCC PDO DEI committee and on the board of the Asian American Criminal Trial Lawyers Association. Yaamini is extremely proud of her South Asian heritage and looks forward to engaging the South Asian legal community on issues of Social Justice. Yaamini holds her B.A. in English and Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley, her Masters of Education in Adolescent Risk and Prevention from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center.
